Aka no model bloat. 1992 RT/10 - 3,284lbs(with no roof) 2014 T/A - 3,297lbs. Personal story after the jump.

Sometime in the 90's, when I was a youth, me and my moms were going to the store. On the way we say a bright blue viper with white stripes. I had no idea it was a Viper at the time. But at the store I asked to get a car magazine and she agreed.

Literally seeing a Viper sparked my love cars …. an obsession thats been going for a couple decades. Which lead me going to school for transportation design, that got me a job as a motorcycle designer. I'll never forget that, and I'll never not love the Viper.

Someday you'll be mine.

Lol, that is exactly how that would happen. Especially the part where I put in a ditch immediately.

This blurred engineer has probably the best job in the whole world.

winter-testing the Viper.

Seriously though, who in their right mind would drive a 600+ RWD V10, no traction control sport car in the snow?

(I guess we would, but we are somewhat crazy, so...)

Great story man! Mine love of cars was sparked by a Viper(red gen. 3), but it wasn't until a few years later that my uncle really got me into cars

Nothing out there catches your eye like a Viper.

I forgot that gen had no traction control for a sec. Makes that photo about 1000x cooler.

What do you mean no model bloat? The new one is 13 pounds heavier. That is like at least a grocery bag worth of bloat over 20 years. I saw one of these over the summer when driving. The yellow wheels are so Hot Wheels over the top but so perfect on a Viper.

Damn, you're right. That is technically model bloat. But imo the OG 3-spokes wheels are the hotness.

Did they ever make the 3 spokes in yellow? Because that would be HNNG.

No photos on GIS. I guess no car can be that cool.

That's a pretty cool personal connection to one bad ass of a car. Good for you for pursuing your dream!

Thanks! I've only been a professional for 6 months, but enjoying work makes it all worth it.
